So why art?
I started teaching my healing art workshops because I believe in the empowerment that comes from art and play, and the mental health benefits that stem from it. EVERYONE is creative in their own way, some of us just need a few words of encouragement to complete a work of art.
My workshops are for everyone, regardless of skill level. I especially encourage you to come if you haven’t done art in a while - allow your inner child to come out and have fun with other likeminded people :).
I provide a calm, meditative atmosphere, solid structure, gentle instructions, and absolute freedom to experiment and personalize your work.
At the end of each workshop you will go home with a wonderful piece of art that is totally brag-worthy.

My Body, My Story
Join illustrator Natalie Very B. in a safe space workshop where you’ll learn how to create an empowering version of a self portrait with ink and tell YOUR story through visual imagery.
During the painting process you’ll look at yourself with a newly found kindness and appreciate your own body as a sacred temple and a real work of art. This workshop will focus on body positivity and a variety of inking techniques.
In this workshop the participants will dive into creative play with collage. They will loosen up from the stress of everyday life and, for the duration of the class, they will allow themselves to forget all about responsibility. Under the guidance of the instructor, they will find peace of mind in a safe and non-judgmental environment that promotes freedom of self-expression. This workshop will encourage individuality of participants’ visual voices to explore the idea of one’s "past", "present", and "future".
Join Natalie for a lesson in letting go, and remember that there are no wrong answers in art.
Over the course of this workshop, the participants will learn the many experimental techniques of India ink and go home with a gorgeous piece of art. This highly pigmented media can create fabulous textures on watercolour paper and become a magical background for your intergalactic artwork. Techniques such as egg drop, bloom, bleed, wet on wet, and wet on dry will be introduced, and once the ink is dry, they will allow for a creation of a highly personalized cosmic landscape filled with stars, constellations, and faraway galaxies.
Over the course of this workshop, you will analyze the structure of a rose and create your own interpretation of what you see. Guided by the instructor, you will learn how to let go of representational imagery and allow yourself to find a new version of reality. You'll explore the connection between flowers and stars, and create a tattoo-inspired painting.
The participants will learn the many experimental techniques of india ink, colour mixing, and illustrative practises.
What I Love About Me: a zine workshop
In this hands-on workshop you will dive deep into conversations about self-acceptance and express yourself through art in a non judgemental environment. You will leave the class with a one of a kind handmade zine and learn how to cultivate the experience of self-love on daily basis. Under the guidance of the instructor you’ll make a zine AND a body positive self-portrait.
Take a step towards loving your mind and body through artistic self-expression.
This workshop is about YOU.
