So why art therapy?
I am currently concluding my art therapy studies at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI). I strongly believe in the empowerment that comes from art and play, and the mental health benefits that stem from it. I believe that all humans are artistic at heart, and that everyone can express themselves through art in their own unique way.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy is a sophisticated form of psychotherapy that offers introspection, insight, building coping skills and strengths, and processing of difficult past events.
Absolutely no art experience necessary.
Everyone is welcome in my classes regardless of skill level, gender identity, cultural background, language, political views, or sexual orientation. I especially encourage you to come if you haven’t done art in a while - allow your inner child to come out and have fun with other likeminded people :).
I provide a calm, meditative atmosphere, solid structure, gentle instructions, and absolute freedom to experiment and personalize your work.
At the end of each workshop you will go home with a wonderful piece of art that is totally one-of-a-kind.
Please contact me to schedule your own magical event or individual therapy sessions! All supplies provided, no experience necessary.

My Body, My Story
Join illustrator Natalie Very B. in a safe space workshop where you’ll learn how to create an empowering version of a self portrait with ink and tell YOUR story through visual imagery.
During the painting process you’ll look at yourself with a newly found kindness and appreciate your own body as a sacred temple and a real work of art. This workshop will focus on body positivity and a variety of inking techniques.
In this workshop the participants will dive into creative play with collage. They will loosen up from the stress of everyday life and, for the duration of the class, they will allow themselves to forget all about responsibility. Under the guidance of the instructor, they will find peace of mind in a safe and non-judgmental environment that promotes freedom of self-expression. This workshop will encourage individuality of participants’ visual voices to explore the idea of one’s "past", "present", and "future".
Join Natalie for a lesson in letting go, and remember that there are no wrong answers in art.
Over the course of this workshop, the participants will learn the many experimental techniques of India ink and go home with a gorgeous piece of art. This highly pigmented media can create fabulous textures on watercolour paper and become a magical background for your intergalactic artwork. Techniques such as egg drop, bloom, bleed, wet on wet, and wet on dry will be introduced, and once the ink is dry, they will allow for a creation of a highly personalized cosmic landscape filled with stars, constellations, and faraway galaxies.
